Halloween´s day

Halloween´s day is celebrated each October 31th. The origin of this celebration comes from a mix of Celtic, Roman, European and Catholic practices.
Many years ago, the Celts thought the October 31th was the end of the summer, and the beginning of the dark and cold winter.. And this time of year was often associated with the human death. Many people thought that day the dead and the human spirits could return to the earth. During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes of animal heads and skins.
Nowdays, some of the traditions are the customs parties and the famous "trick-or-treating" . This tradition dates back to the early All Souls' Day parades in England. During the festivities, poor citizens would beg for food and families would give them pastries called "soul cakes" in return for their promise to pray for the family's dead relatives.
Years ago, the people thought that they could encounter ghosts if they left their homes, so they wore costumes to avoid being recognized by these spirits. So they usually wore masks because the ghosts could mistake with other spirits.
